Withdrawal Unit

Based in a rural setting at Ingleburn, the Detoxification Unit provides privacy and comfort.

The Unit is able to accommodate up to 13 people, staffed 24 hours by nursing staff. All clients are assessed by a Doctor to determine the appropriate detoxification regime.

The client undergoing detox has the choice of supervised medical or non-medical detoxification.

The program lasts 7-10 days and includes social and medical assessment and counseling.

Accupuncture, art therapy and group sessions are used to assist in detox.

After withdrawal, clients have the opportunity to be referred to the Odyssey House residential program or to other services.

50% of detox clients choose to enter the Odyssey House program.
