Today is the day to create hope

In our last newsletter we shared the progress on the building of the new Odyssey Family Recovery Centre, a long-term Australian residential service that will allow parents, both singles and couples, to undertake rehabilitation treatment while their children aged 0-12 years live with them in a safe learning environment that enables positive and lasting change. It means parents who are experiencing drug and alcohol dependence can get the treatment they need without worrying about finding a carer for their children before they start rehabilitation.

The Odyssey Family Recovery Centre delivers the Parent’s and Children’s Residential Program, which has helped parents break the cycle of generational drug and alcohol dependence for over 45 years. The Centre will provide a home where parents, like Sylvia, can maintain care of their young children during their recovery while we help them develop skills to establish and manage a safe and healthy family home.

The Odyssey Family Recovery Centre will be opening its doors later this year, and we need your help to purchase bedding, household furniture, kitchen utensils and children’s play toys……just to name a few. We’ve got an ambitious goal of raising $100,000 by 31 October 2022, and we need your help to make the centre not just a house, but a home.

To make showing your support easier, we’ve created an online shop with the items most in need. Simply visit the online shop, make your purchase, and your gift will be used to support the families we welcome to the Odyssey Family Recovery Centre.

Today is the day to create more hope for families of our new Family Recovery Centre. No matter how big or small, every item purchased will make a lasting impact.

Here’s an example of how your gift can make a difference to Odyssey House NSW residents:

  • $50 can purchase a toy package for children to play, learn, dream!
  • $150 can purchase a bike for a child and their parent, promoting adventure, outdoor play and exercise.
  • $300 can purchase a bed frame. Sleep is so important, especially whilst taking the journey to positive and lasting change.
  • $1,600 can purchase a fridge, because every home needs a fridge to keep the food fresh.
  • $6,000 can purchase an outdoor storage shed, so our teams can maintain the gardens and outdoor spaces that promote the physical and mental health of Odyssey residents.

Odyssey NSW has set the standard for alcohol and drug rehabilitation services across NSW.  Your generous gift will enable us to DOUBLE the number of families we can support, ensuring that treatment enables parents and children to stay together and be supported to reconnect through recovery.

Join us and open a new door for these families. Your purchase from the Odyssey Family Recovery Centre Shop will help families in taking the first positive step to recovery.
