There are no easy answers to the problems of drug misuse in our society and the reality is that drug problems are not confined to an isolated few. Research shows, however, that drug rehabilitation can work. More than 70% of residents completing our program remain drug free after a year.
All residents in the program must confront the reason they turned to an addictive lifestyle. Residents are taught alternative ways of dealing with the ups and downs of daily life.
After completing the program, residents are likely to live longer, reduce crime and ease demands on health and community services. In 2013-14, Odyssey House residents accounted for over 28,507 drug and crime free days.
