'Real Men, Real Cooks, Real Success'
Odyssey House will hold its annual fundraiser, 'Real Men Cook' at bel mondo restaurant, at the Rocks on 28th July, 2008. The event, which started in 2000, has grown each year and sells out virtually as soon as tickets go on sale. This year’s event was no different as 140 people attended to support the Odyssey House services, enjoy a fantastic lunch and to interact with, and be entertained by some of Sydney’s most familiar male celebrities.
A number of high profile Sydney men will donate their time for kitchen and waiter duty at bel mondo restaurant on 28 July at Real Men Cook for Odyssey, the annual luncheon and food/indulgence-themed fundraising auction in aid of the renowned Odyssey House drug and alcohol rehabilitation service.
Celebrities assisting new bel mondo head chef Andy Ball include sports legends Kieren Perkins, Nick Farr Jones and Tom Carroll, comedian Vince Sorrenti, media personalities David Koch, Peter Harvey, Mark Ferguson and Chris Gray, and celebrity chefs Ben O’Donoghue and Ed Halmagyi.
Bel mondo's Michael Lloyd is generously donating the venue and delectable food, with bel mondo kitchen and wait-staff volunteering their time to the cause.
As well as enjoying food by ‘real men’, guests can bid for covetable items such as a cocktail party for 60 at Hugo’s Lounge; a ‘fine dining package’ to Watermark, Oliveto, Guillaume at Bennelong and 360 Bar & Dining; dinner at Aria before a performance by the Australian Ballet; a private dinner party catered by Belinda Franks; a spring garden from Andreasens Green Nurseries; and a host of other food and wine delights.
Odyssey House is one of Australia’s largest and most successful rehabilitation services, and has helped 30,000 people from around NSW to overcome drug and alcohol problems in the past 30 years.
